Jeanie
Davis Pullen is an educator, consultant, and speaker with an advanced
degree in gifted education. She created and teaches a mentoring program
for gifted high school seniors and also teaches graduate courses at the
university level. For the past seventeen years, Jeanie has been the director
of a large summer institute for gifted children in the Minneapolis/St.
Paul area.
Jeanie and her husband, Michael, have two adult children. Aspects of the children's childhood are depicted in Life Teachings: Raising a Child.

The first twenty years of my life were spent in Kentucky, and I remember adults from the family and community talking on the porch on warm, lazy afternoons and into the evenings.
I remember that many important matters were settled and learned about in that easy, musing fashion. I heard much wisdom transferred on that childhood porch. The porch musings were filled with wisdom based upon someone's experiences and knowledge. That person did not need to be an expert. The wisdom came in several layers and I think that was some of the value. There were many facets of the porch musings and each who heard the talking took a little more from the experience than just the topic at hand.
So, too, in Life Teachings: Raising a Child there is more here than meets the eye. Using your own intellect and your experiences, you will find information in each small chapter that goes beyond the topic at hand.
I invite you to pull up a rocker and have some iced tea as we muse together over the crucial matter of forming a foundation for a child. The introduction tells you of the philosophy that guided my child raising. You'll find that important, for it sets the scene. Then, we get into the stories that tell you how the philosophy played. Perhaps in our porch musings, you will find some wisdom here, something that will be of use to you.
